Winnie Fisher

Winnie “Ann” Dunn Fisher, 84, of Meridian, passed away on November 14th, 2020.

Ann was born on January 12th, 1936, in Meridian, MS to Charles and Emma Dorothy (Schillings) Dunn. After moving to Charleston, SC, as a child during WWII, Ann returned to Meridian at the age of 12 and later graduated from Meridian High School. Ann then attended the University of Southern Mississippi where she earned her bachelor’s degree. Ann married her college sweetheart, Lamar Fisher, and worked as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She attended Highland Baptist Church where she had a wonderful group of Sunday School friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Emma Dorothy Dunn, her sister, Carol Dunn Kidd, and her loving and faithful husband, Lamar Fisher.

She is survived by her son, Mark Fisher (wife, Pamela) of Austin, TX, her daughter, Leigh Poole (husband, Frank) of Meridian, MS, her two grandchildren, Daniel Poole of Emelle, AL, and Kristen Poole Sumrall (husband, Jake), and her two great-grandsons, Wesley and Walker Sumrall of Newton, MS.

A private family memorial will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Highland Baptist Church.
