Graveside Services for Miss Winifred Cox will be held Monday, October 13, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Magnolia Cemetery. Dr. Frank Lay and Rev. Lance Word will be officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Miss Cox, age 96, died Friday, October 10, 2008 at Guardian Angel Hospice in Marion.

She was a member of Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church and former member of State Boulevard Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, organist and choir member. She was a charter member of The Meridians First Ladies Civitan Club since 1980.

She is survived by her cousins; John Robert Taylor and wife, Betty of Mobile, AL; M.J. Taylor and wife, Mary of Sherwood, AR; several other cousins and many nieces and nephews; and friends, Gene Henley and Evelyn McCartney.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Carl S. and Pearl Taylor Cox and her sisters: Rowena Cox Powers and Ruby Cox.

Pallbearers will be Ken Covington, Lamar McDonald, Jack Medlin, Ronnie Massey, Leon Holyfield and Sam Gressett.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
