Vondell Gullette

A graveside service for Vondell Thompson Gullette will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022, 11:00 a.m., at Magnolia Cemetery with Rev. Raymond Leake officiating. Webb & Stephens Funeral Home Downtown is entrusted with arrangements.

Mrs. Gullette, 94, of Meridian, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Bedford Care Center.

Vondell was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Meridian. She graduated from Meridian High School in 1945 where she served as a drum majorette with the band. She then attended MSCU in Columbus and Meridian Junior College. She spent 17 years at the Credit Bureau of Meridian, and 10 years as a bookkeeper and served on the Board of Directors for Meridian Mutual Federal Credit Union, where she retired in 1984. She also dedicated her time to the Deb Club for several years as an adult advisor. She will be missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Brittany Todd (Brian); great grandchildren, Michael Skyler Neal, Cameron Gullette Neal, Zayne Christoper Todd, and Lillian Alexandra Todd; sister-in-law, Marolyn G. Davison; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Q. Gullette; son, Michael Clifton Gullette; and parents, Clifton and Weita Thompson.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, Alzheimer’s Association, or First Baptist Church of Meridian.
