Mr. Tommy A. Horne

Funeral Services for Mr. Tommy A. Horne will be held Monday, January 5, 2009 at 1:00 pm at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Dabbs officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Church Cemetery in Bonita. James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Horne, age 72, died Wednesday, December 31, 2008 in Lonoke, Arkansas. He was born in Bonita, MS where he remained a lifelong resident . He was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and Jackson School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor degree. He was a Christian, Mason, Shriner, a veteran of the United States Army and Navy and practicing attorney until retirement. Mr. Horne served the Mississippi State Legislation for thirty years. He was known for his leadership and commitment to high ethical standards. He was an avid deer hunter that spent many hours hunting with his grandsons. He also enjoyed spending time with all his grandchildren and attending their various sporting events.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Aldrich Horne of Meridian; sons: Steve Horne and wife, Suzy of Meridian; Jeff Horne and wife, Lisa of Enterprise; stepsons: C. Warren Franklin and wife, Virginia of Lonoke, AR; W. Bruce Franklin and wife, Donna of Franklin, TN; grandchildren: Lauren A. Horne, Tommy S. Horne, Hunter B. Horne, Tyler J. Horne, Jordan G. Horne and Cameron S. Horne.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur M. and Irma Mazingo Horne; daughter, Angela R. Horne and a younger sister.

Pallbearers will be Jake Vaughn, Buddy Tate, Randy Evans, Marcell Goodman, Marvin Wiggins, Jr., Ernie Pippin, Butch Terry and Eugene Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dudley Maples, David Burns, Bill Gordon and Eric Robinson.
