Graveside services for Mr. Thomas Clay Williams will be held Saturday at 10 am in Antioch Baptist Church cemetery in Kemper Co. Rev. Wilson Kendrick will be officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Coach Williams, 78, of Scooba, passed away Tuesday at Jeff Anderson Medical Center.

He was a graduate of Mississippi State University with his Masters degree and Education Specialist certification. During his career, Coach Williams impacted many students, some of whom he still maintained contact. He was basketball coach at Rockdale High School and Forest Park High School in Georgia and at Kemper Academy, Jeff Davis Academy and East MS Community College. His love was teaching, that was his passion and what was important to him. Coach Williams was also a member of Geiger Methodist Church and a deacon at Antioch Baptist Church. He was also a member of both the Georgia and Mississippi Cattlemen’s Association.

Coach Williams is survived by his wife Gail; sons Matt Williams and Zac Williams (Toree); brother Kary Williams (Fay), niece Cathy Stennis (Richard); nephews Michael (Hannah) and Brian Williams. He is also survived by his great-nieces Tori Stennis, Heidi Williams, Phoebe Williams; great- nephew Owen Williams along with numerous cousins, friends and former students.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clay and Mary Francis Williams.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the United Leukodystrophy  Foundation at 224 North Second Street, Suite 2, DeKalb, Illinois 60115.
