Shirley Caraway

Funeral services for Shirley Caraway will be held Monday, July 17, 2023, at 1:00 pm, at Cuba Baptist Church, with Bro. Mike McKee and Bro. Jim Rickles officiating, and burial following at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held July 16 from 5-7:00 pm at Webb & Stephens – North, 7774A Hwy 39 North.

Mrs. Caraway, 84, of Toomsuba, MS died Wednesday, July 12^th at home.

Shirley was a retired bookkeeper, having worked many years for Cantey Paint and Interiors.  She was member of Cuba Baptist Church, and a former member of 8^th Ave. Baptist Church, where she attended for 46 years.

She is survived by a son, Greg Caraway and wife Susan of Bandon, MS; a daughter, Julie Rickles and husband Allen of Toomsuba, MS; grandchildren Hannah Caraway (Gage), and Nick Caraway of Brandon an Alyssa Rickles of Toomsuba, MS; Sisters, Bobbie Thorne and Husband James and Katheryn Stephens; sisters-in-law, Peggy Caraway; InSoon Caraway and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her spouse of 46 years, Mr. Cleon “Pete” Caraway, parents Russell and Evelyn Holdcroft; parent in laws Ben and Betty Caraway, step mother in law Mary Caraway; sister Dot Purvis and her husband Sammie Purvis; sisters in law Ethel Doner and husband Jessie; Jean Pickard and husband Chester “Bug”; Polly Caraway and husband Jessie; Betty Caraway and husband Milton, Rosie Caraway and husband Maurice, Myrtle Caraway and husband Tommy, Edna Caraway Smith, Irene Caraway Martin and husband John; Brother in law William Benjamin Caraway, Claude; nephews, Dewayne Purvis, Kevin Thorne; Odell, Bennie Curtis, and Alan Smith, Mike, Johnny, Colen Paul and David Caraway.

Pallbearer will be Dr. Keith Thorne, David Purvis, Michael Beesley, Tim Doner, Steve Pickard, and Michael Thompson.
