Shireen Cherry

November 21, 1962 — December 10, 2020

Memorial services for Mrs. Shireen Cherry will be held Wednesday, December 16th at 4pm at Pine Grove Church. Rev. Tommy Espey will be officiating.

Mrs. Cherry, 58, of Collinsville, passed away at her residence on Thursday evening.

She was retired as a dispatcher for Lauderdale Co. E-911. Mrs. Cherry will be remembered for her ability to love so fiercely. She believed in family more than anything. She was the glue that held her family together. To know her was to know pure love. Mrs. Cherry loved her family and especially her grandchildren. She often mentioned how being a grandmother was the best gift her children ever gave her. She could light up the darkest rooms with her smile and laughter. Mrs. Cherry never looked as family as a being only blood relatives, she would always adopt people into the family. She was a mother to so many people. She would never let anyone feel left out. If a child came over during the holidays, she would always make sure they had a present to open so they would feel loved too. She enjoyed painting ceramics, reading, watching her ghost shows and collecting anything penguin related. Mrs. Cherry had a deep love for penguins. She said she loved them so much because they would choose a mate for life. Mrs. Cherry touched many lives during her lifetime and will truly be missed.
