Sharlene Peggy Sparks Garrett

     Sharlene Peggy Garrett, 87, of Meridian, Mississippi passed away in the early morning hours of September 28, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.    

     Sharlene was born to Clyde and Roma Sparks on July 25, 1936, in Meridian, Mississippi.  She will be remembered by her family as having been the most loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother there ever was.  She has been married to her loving husband, Roy, for 72 wonderful years, and as he pointed out to their daughter, without ever spending more than a night away from each other.

     Sharlene is survived by her husband, Roy S. Garrett; her daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Watson; granddaughters, Emily Davis (Jason), Carmen Allen (Andrew) and Christian Duke; grandson, Kenny Watson (Pamela); and a legacy of ten great-grandchildren, Jase Clearman, Jillian Watson, Oliver Watson, Scout Watson, Lucy Allen, Ameila Allen, Abigail Newkirk, Addison Newkirk, Ava Grace Duke, and Brantley Duke.

     She is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Lisa Duke.

     A Graveside Service will be held Monday, October 2, 2023, at 2 pm at the Magnolia Cemetery in Meridian, Mississippi, with Roy S. Garrett and Kenny Watson officiating the service.
