Sara Ann Lee Gibson

Sara Lee Gibson, 84, of Meridian, MS passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Sara was born in Sunflower County, MS to B.B. and Lucille Lee on July 31, 1941.

In 1959, she married the love of her life, Buddy Gibson, and together they built a beautiful life centered on God, family, and serving others.

Sara and Buddy shared a ministry known as Sara Gibson Ministries which provided support to many programs both locally and around the world.

Sara had a weekly television program called Sara Gibson Proclaims. She did monthly regional bible teaching meetings. She had a big heart for Africa and worked tirelessly to develop and support an orphanage in Kenya called The Joy Center.

Sara loved her ministry, reading the bible, watching old movies, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a huge, generous heart and loved giving presents. You had to be careful complimenting her things because she would try to give them to you.

She is survived by her loving husband, Everett “Buddy” Gibson; children, Melanie Roberts (Larry) and Bryant Gibson (Tammy); grandchildren, John Mills (Jessica), Tyler Gibson (Hillary), Katie Ivy (Joel), Sarah Taddia (Donald), and Austin Mills (Chelsea); and great grandchildren, Eli, Weston, Wyatt, Aeris, Arwen, and Ezra.

A celebration of Sara’s life will be held Monday, October 6, 2025, 2:00 p.m., at Webb & Stephens Funeral Home-North with Rev. M.R. Reagan officiating.

Visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to service time at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Joy Center Orphanage, P.O. Box 27 Philadelphia, MS 39350 or scan Venmo QR code located at the top of the obituary page.
