Sam Gagliano

Graveside services for Mr. Sam J. Gagliano will be held Saturday, July 18th at 1:30 pm at Magnolia Cemetery in Meridian.  Dr. Danny Lanier will be officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of his arrangements.

Mr. Gagliano, 99, of Meridian, formerly of Violet, LA and New Orleans passed away Saturday at his residence.

He was born in Independence, LA, the son of Italian immigrants, the late Michael Angelo and Josephine Gagliano. Mr. Gagliano was a veteran of World War II, participating in the liberation of the Philippines, serving his country in the U.S. Army. He retired as a labor supervisor for Falstaff Brewery and St. Bernard water works.  He married Joyce Barcelona with whom they enjoyed fifty eight years together.

Mr. Gagliano is survived by five children, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren with one on the way. He was a brother of nine siblings.

The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice for the care they provided to Mr. Gagliano.
