Rudolph Bounds, 94, of Dekalb Ms., passed away peacefully at his home on January 16, 2026. He was born on November 28, 1931, in Lawrence, MS to T. J. Bounds and Oza Mae Germany Bounds.
He Attended S. D. Lee High School, Columbus MS, and Mississippi State university, Starkville MS, where he earned a Bachelor Science Degree.
Rudy had diverse service and work history. He served in the Army as a medic during the Korean War. After returning home, he was employed at American Bosch (now known as United technologies), Columbus Ms., where he retired as a supervisor in 1993. H ethen became a full time Cattle Farmer in Dekalb, MS from 1993-2022, when he retired at the age of 91.
Rudy was preceded in death by Daisy Atkins Bounds (1978), His wife Ruby Hopper Bounds (1997), one son Barry Bounds (2018).
Rudy is survived by children, Peggy Bounds Jones, Martha Bounds Seaton (Bill), Elaine Bounds Meyers, and Sidney Bounds (Sandra); 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 7 great great-grandchildren.
Services for Rudy will be, Tuesday, January 20th 2026 at 1, with a visitation and hour prior, located at Webb and Stephens Funeral Home – Dekalb.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Bill Seaton, Justin Jones, David Weathers, Mike Bounds, Josiah Graves, Ricky Horton, and David Bounds. Honorary pallbearer will be Lowell Burch, Clayton Lang and Bill Oubrey.
The staff of Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes-Dekalb is grateful for the opportunity to honor Rudy’s life and memory and to serve his loving family during this time.
