Ruby Earnestine Stanley, 87, of Meridian, passed away peacefully on the evening of Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at The Preserve of Meridian.
Ruby, lovingly known as “Teenie” to her family and friends, was born on February 11, 1938, in Clarke County, MS to Earnest “Honey” Alonzo and Ruby Edith (Long) Shirley. Teenie loved her Lord and her church family of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she was a lifetime member. She enjoyed traveling, bible studies, and gospel sings. Teenie was also a Master Gardner, who could grow just about anything and did! She was also a great collector of many cookbooks and kitchen utensils, of which, her family lovingly remembers, she never used! Teenie loved and was loved by everyone who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
Teenie was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Ruby Shirley; her brother, Stanley Shirley; and her sisters, Peggy Bolen and Kathy Luke.
Those left to cherish her memory are her brother, Wayne Shirley and his wife, Sherry; brother-in-law, Verdell Luke; her stepchildren, Scott Stanley (Delaine), David Stanley (Margaret), and Angi Tynes (Scott); a host of beloved nieces and nephews; her very dear friends, Opal Bush and Myra Tew; along with many precious step-grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation for Teenie will be held on Friday, November 21st, from 1:00-2:00 pm at Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes-North. Graveside Services will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Brad Sliger officiating the services.
Serving as Pallbearers for Teenie’s service will be Jeff Tingle, Kevin Shirley, Stephen Shirley, Luke Tingle, Cole Shirley, and Tom Boswell.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at The Preserve for taking such loving care of Teenie while she was there. Their kindness and compassion will not soon be forgotten.
The staff of Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes-North is grateful for the opportunity to honor Teenie’s life and memory and to serve her loving family during this time.
