Richard L. "Rich" Simpson

A Memorial Gathering for Richard L. Simpson will be held Sunday at 4pm at Jubilee Mennonite Church located at 812 - 28th Avenue in Meridian.

Mr. Simpson, 76, of Meridian, died Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Anderson Hospital. Richard was a retired Gunnery Sgt. In the United States Marine Corps. He was an expert marksman and veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a friend to many and will be greatly missed by those who loved him.

He is survived by his children, Dawn Michelle Simpson, Donald Simpson, and Diane Butler; grandchildren, Jennifer Michelle Simpson and Michael Bunch; brother, David Dufour; special friends, The Floyd and Scruggs Family and Kandy Sue Crawford; and his loving dog, "Skeeter".

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Emily Simpson; and a granddaughter, Brooke Spencer Griffin.
