Richard Thomas Pryor shed his earthly vessel and entered into the presence of his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
Mr. Pryor was born on June 11, 1942, in Meridian, Mississippi. He married Joyce Annette Shumate, and together had three children, Veronica Leigh (“Ronnye”), Richard Paul, and Debra Dawn (“Debbie”). He served in the Mississippi Air National Guard early on in his career, and was employed by Magnolia Steel, as a structural steel detailer, for over 30 years.
Mr. Pryor was predeceased by his parents, Louie Thomas and Laura Elizabeth Pryor, Ronnye, and Joyce.
He is survived by his daughter, Debra Dawn Herrera, son-in-law, Jim, and grandsons, Sloan and Benjamin, and his son, Richard Paul Pryor, daughter-in-law, Carol Anne, and granddaughter, Sarah Anne Elizabeth, as well as extended family.
Great appreciation is due Candace Page, Casey Sides, and the staff of Meridian Living, and Taunisha Miller, Clay Lewis, and the staff of Queen City Nursing Center for their loving care of Mr. Pryor. Great appreciation is also due Stacy and Tommy Jenkins and the ministry team of Taking It To The Streets, an evangelistic arm of The Evangel Temple, for their ministry to Mr. Pryor.
Arrangements for Mr. Pryor are private in accordance with his wishes.
