Peggy Jo Clark Harbour’s beautiful soul peacefully entered heaven on November 24, 2024, at Whispers, the family camp house in DeKalb, Mississippi. She was 84.
Visitation will be held on November 29, 2024, at DeKalb Presbyterian Church from 1:00-2:30 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. with Reverend Justin Knight officiating. Burial will be at Pine Crest Cemetery in DeKalb.
Peggy was born in the Forest Dale Community of Neshoba County Mississippi to Archie Clinton and Selma May Clark on June 16, 1940. She lived there until her marriage to the love of her life Frederick Dale Harbour Sr. They moved to DeKalb in 1959 where they lived out their lives. Peggy was a devoted wife, mother, while Fred served as mayor of DeKalb for 24 years and was a cattleman and timber farmer.
The youngest of eight siblings, Peggy valued and loved her family. She was a quintessential southern belle, known for her benevolent and charitable heart. She loved fine dining, her flower gardens, travel, dancing and roller skating with Fred. Peggy also enjoyed fine art and interiors, shopping, entertaining, and remained active in their church until later in her life.
She is survived by her children: Lynne Woolley (John), Christy Hamilton (Tony) and F. Dale Harbour Jr.; her granddaughters: Taylor Harbour Bamrick (Michael), Bailey Lynne Harbour, and Jordan Mae Harbour; her brother, Kelly Paul Clark (Ginger) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Peggy’s beloved puppy, AC, followed her to Heaven just two short days later.
Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Dale Harbour, Sr., her parents AC and Selma Clark, her siblings Gaynelle Clark Madison, AC Clark Jr., Charles Lee Clark, Kellis Adams Clark, Robert Calvin Clark, and Leonard Land Clark.
Serving as pallbearers are Kelly, Lee and Jeff Clark, Brad Barefield, David Webb and Bruce Clay.
The family would like to give special thanks to her amazing caregivers LaKeisha Phillips, Kim Scott, Carolyn Needham, Val McCoy, and Renoda Clark. They truly were her second family and provided the best and most loving care.
The family welcomes and appreciates all gestures made in her memory. Donations may be made to the DeKalb Presbyterian Church, The Parkinson’s Foundation, or to the charity of your choice.
