Odis Wayne Rigdon

Odis Wayne Rigdon, 78, of Collinsville, passed away peacefully at his home on the morning of Wednesday, August 5, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.

Wayne will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He was a long-time and devoted member of Duffee Church of Christ of Little Rock. Wayne was married to the love of his life, Carol, and together they always had a helping hand and a heart full of love for all around them.

Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era, earning the National Defense Service Medal, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, and the Air Force Achievement Medal. He continued his military service with 21 years in the Mississippi Air National Guard and dedicated 30 years to General Motors before retiring.

Wayne enjoyed bowling and made many lifelong friends through his bowling league. He will be remembered as a hardworking Christian man who loved and provided for his family. He usually had a child in his arms and a smile on his face. He was a man of few words, but what he said, he meant.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved daughter, LeAnne Motes (Steven); his brother, Dennis Rigdon (Teresa); his grandchildren, Sarah Thomas (Jonathan), Adam Motes, and Preston Tomberlin; two great grandchildren, Charlie & Silas Thomas; mother-in-law, Thelma Talbert; sisters-in-law, Gail Rigdon and Shirley Raley (Stan); along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Odis Edward and Mildred Laudine Rigdon; his beloved bride of 60 years, Margaret Carol Rigdon; son, Christopher Wayne Rigdon; brother, Donald Lee Rigdon; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Pickard; and father-in-law, William Everett Talbert.

Visitation for Wayne will be held on Saturday, August 8th, from 10-11:00 am at Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes-North. Funeral Services will begin in the chapel at 11:00 am with Bro. Irven Skinner and Bro. John Skinner officiating the services. Burial will take place in the Friendship Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers for Wayne’s service will be Steven Motes, Adam Motes, Jonathan Thomas, Joe Alexander, Jeff Alexander, and Preston Tomberlin.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests for memorials to be made in Wayne’s honor to the India Mission at the Duffee Church of Christ at 11872 Hwy 494, Little Rock, MS 39337, or to your favorite charity of choice.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Kenneth Alexander, Wayne’s caregiver, for his care and dedication to Wayne and their family. He truly made a positive and compassionate impact on Wayne’s life.
