Naomi Richardson

February 20, 1939 — January 29, 2021

Wray Richardson, 81, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 28, 2021, in Meridian, MS, after a battle against metastatic breast cancer. She entered the gates of Heaven and is no longer in pain because she knew she was forgiven of her sins through Jesus Christ. She was looking forward to a great reunion with family members and friends who had gone before her. She will be missed here on earth in so many ways by her family and friends, but there is assurance they will see her again one day in Heaven.

Wray was born in Louisville, MS, on February 20, 1939. She grew up in Artesia, MS, but had lived in Meridian and Enterprise for most of her adult life. She was employed for years at Lerner Shops in the Village Fair Mall, and she also worked many years in the dress department at McRae’s/Belk at Bonita Lakes Mall. She enjoyed working in her yard, putting jigsaw puzzles together, knitting, fishing, and working crossword puzzles. She attended Savoy Baptist Church for many years. She deeply loved her family and was a caring mother, grandmother, and dear friend to many.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Lana Richardson, of Meridian; her daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Gary Dover, of Meridian; her son, Charlie (Mitch) Barnett, of Memphis, TN; her grandchildren, Devin, Bryce, Tanner and Cole Richardson, Michael, Sarah and Tiffany Dover, and William, Michael and Carol Barnett; and her brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Jackie Easley, of Vacaville, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mitchell B. Easley and Audria May Cutts Easley; her twin sister, Willie Fay Easley; her older sister, JoAnn Smith; her son, Wayne Barnett; and her former husband, Gene Richardson.

Wray’s family would like to express appreciation to Southern Care Hospice and to her nurse, Hollie, for the loving care she received. A private celebration of her life/memorial service will be held at a later date in February.
