It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Martin F. O’Connor on January 12, 2026, who honorably served our nation in the United States Navy and United States Marine Corp. Born on December 18, 1962, Martin devoted his life to duty, honor, and the protection of others. Throughout a distinguished career, he embodied the highest standards of military service, earning the respect of comrades and the gratitude of a grateful nation.
As his devoted wife, I had the privilege of witnessing Martin's unwavering dedication to his country, family and friends. His kindness, strength and sense of duty touched every part of our lives. While we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the extraordinary man he was and the countless lives he enriched with his compassion and sincerity. His memory will remain forever in our hearts.
Martin will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his father, Columba O’Connor. He is survived by his wife, Rachelle O’Connor, his son and daughters, Jared O’Connor, Melissa O’Connor, Jennifer Waggoner and his stepdaughter Adisson Myrick, his mother, Sarah O’Connor, his grandchildren, Sloane, Maximus, Jack, Gabriel and Chase, and his brothers Colm O’Connor and Gary O’Connor. In addition to his valor and leadership both in and out of uniform, Martin was a loving family member and a cherished friend. He leaves behind a legacy of service, sacrifice, and integrity that will continue to inspire all who follow in his footsteps. May he rest in eternal peace.
