Services for Marion Lee Breckenridge will be held Thursday, April 18, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Springs Presbyterian Church with Rev. William Yount officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Webb & Stephens Funeral Home-DeKalb is honored to be trusted with arrangements.

Mr. Breckenridge, 76, of DeKalb, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024, At Baptist Anderson’s Hospital in Meridian after a 7-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Marion graduated from DeKalb High School in 1965. He then went on to EMCC before going to MSU to obtain his bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics. He also served in the Air National Guard as a member of the 186th Reconnaissance Group. He worked for some time at the Farmer’s Home 
 Administration before becoming the Agency Manager at Farm Bureau. He was also a member of several organizations including The American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, International Lions Club, and was on the board for Kemper Farm Bureau.

Marion had a variety of hobbies that included traveling, hunting (both deer and turkey), and working on his tree and beef farm, especially tending to his beloved cows. He was also a lifelong, dedicated member of Pleasant Springs Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder. The things he considered most important were God, his church, the love of his life (Mrs. Barbara), his children, and his granddaughter. He touched so many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Barbara Lang Breckenridge; children, Lindsey Breckenridge (Jennifer) and Shanna Young (Manny Geno); granddaughter, Margaret Ann Young; sister, Marcia Al-Habbash (Hani); nieces and nephews, Johnny Breckenridge, Frankie Davis, Laith Al-Habbash, Sari Al-Habbash, John Donald, Jared Donald, and Heath Donald; sister-in-law, Cathy Donald; and special cousin, James Earl Thomas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilmer Lee and Linnie Thomas Breckenridge; and brother, Charles Breckenridge.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 17th at Webb & Stephens Funeral Home-DeKalb from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and thirty minutes prior to service at the church on Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Pleasant Springs Cemetery Fund at 1496 Thomas Lang Road, DeKalb, MS 39328.
