Lou Marie McDermitt

February 21, 1961 — April 18, 2026

Meridian

Lou Marie Hall McDermitt, 65, of Meridian, passed away on the morning of April 18, 2026, at Baptist Anderson Regional Medical Center.

Lou was born to Dolores Hope (Kenney) Hall in Port Jervis, New York on February 21, 1961. Lou married the love of her life, Thomas McDermitt I, and they remained together until his passing in 2009.

Lovingly called ‘Lou-Lou’ by her grandchildren, she cherished every moment spent with them—whether coloring, playing outside, or pushing them on their bikes, as her health allowed. She took great joy and pride in watching her son raise his family. Lou-Lou loved quiet pleasures, like going for walks, watching the hummingbirds, and sharing the events of her day with her family. Even as her health declined and pain became a constant factor, her selfless nature never wavered; she always did everything she could to help her family and lift their spirits. While her family deeply mourns her loss, they find comfort knowing she is at last at peace and free from pain.

Those left to cherish Lou’s memory are her loving son, Thomas McDermitt II and his fiancé, Jessica Long; along with her four beloved grandchildren, Emma Grace, Maeleigh Ray, and twins, Nolan and Waylan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas McDermitt I and her mother, Dolores Hall.

The family will hold a private remembrance ceremony at a later date.

The staff of Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes-North is grateful for the opportunity to honor Lou’s life and memory and to serve her loving family during this time.
