Lou Limerick

A Celebration of Life Service for Lou Ella Jenkins Limerick, 91, will be Thursday, June 24, 2021, at 2:00, at Stephens Funeral Home in Meridian. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Cemetery in Bailey. Reverend Bill Yount, along with Rev. Don Malin and Dr. Toby Bates will officiate. Mrs. Limerick died Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Anderson Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Limerick is survived by her son Zena Limerick; her daughter Cathy Clearman; 5 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Bryant and Carrie Jenkins; her husband John L. Limerick; her sons Travis Wayne Limerick, John Steven Limerick, and Barrie Lewis Limerick and her sister Katherine Jenkins Ingram Ladd.

Mrs. Limerick graduated from Center Hill High School in 1947, she retired from NAS Meridian and then continued to work at North Lauderdale Water Association. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church where she played the piano from the age of 17 until her 91st birthday. She was a member of the board of directors of the North Lauderdale Water Association, a long-time member of Obadiah Homemakers and Center Hill Community Club, where she served as President of both and as treasurer. She was a patron of the arts and loved attending the MSO and MLT.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 23, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00, at Stephens Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be the employees of North Lauderdale Water Association and Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to either Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church or to Palmer Home for Children.
