Obituary

Lindy Ray Anderson, age 72 of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away at home on October 10, 2026. He was born on December 7, 1953 to the late William L. and Elizabeth Anderson in Monahans, Texas.

Lindy was a man of many creative talents, finding enjoyment in detailed handiwork like wood carving, drawing, painting, scrimshaw, and especially knife making. Beyond his artistic side, his professional life included serving for many years as a draftsman and project engineer. His passion for working with the land took root early in life while spending childhood summers working on his grandfather's peach farm in Mississippi, a passion that stayed with him as he proudly tended a garden every year. Above all else, he cherished his family, and nothing brought him greater warmth and happiness than the time he spent surrounded by his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Gale Anderson, son, Eric (Kim) Anderson, and daughter, Kelly (Brent) Fletcher; grandchildren, Selena Anderson, Abigail (Trent) Anderson, and Ethan (Cassidy) Reed, great-grandchildren, Madilyn, Wes, Millie, and Rhett; brother, Sam (Kim) Anderson, and sister, Rhonda (Trent) Tomberlin, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 15, 2026 from 6:00pm until 7:00pm at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will be immediately following at 7:00pm with Chaplain W. Randall Holmes officiating.

Memories and condolences may be shared with the family via www.morrisbaker.com.
