Services for Linda Susan Burris will be on Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026, with visitation from 1-2 at Webb and Stephens Funeral Home-North, with a burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Linda Susan Burris was born on January 3rd, 1952, to Need and Mary Jarman, in Meridian, MS. Susan passed away at home on April 13th, 2026, at the age of 74.

Susan always knew that she wanted to be a mom. Her dream was to have a boy and a girl. She loved to tell her son and daughter that she got exactly what she wanted. Not only was Susan loved by her own children but by the many children whom she taught over the years. Even after retiring as an elementary school teacher, she still lovingly spoke to everyone as if they were in her 2nd grade class.

Susan always had a positive outlook on life. She saw the good in everyone and truly had a heart of gold. She was very thoughtful. She enjoyed giving gifts to friends and family. Her gifts were usually accompanied by a greeting card in which she decorated with drawings and stickers.

In addition to her card decorating, she enjoyed watching T.V. mysteries and comedies. Susan was very weather conscious and would always call to let her daughter know when a storm was coming.

Susan was always a silly person, making others laugh without even trying. She just wanted everyone around her to be as happy as she was.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Need and Mary Jarman, her husband Nolan Burris, her sister, Sandra Jarman, and her brother Andy Jarman.

Susan is survived by her son, Steve Moody; her daughter, Melissa Hughes (Lee Hughes); her sister, Cindy Burt (Von Burt); her nephew, Lon Burt; and her niece, Ivey Burt Shelton.
