Lida Jean Porter

A graveside service for Mrs. Lida Jean Porter will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2025, 2:00 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with Bro. Mike Russell officiating. 

Mrs. Porter, 95, of Meridian, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 16, 2025, at James T. Champion Nursing Facility.

Lida was a long time, faithful member of Midway Baptist Church, and adored her church family. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

She is survived by her children, Pat Burnside (Danny) and Billy Frank Porter Jr. (Kimberly); grandchildren, Jason Burnside, Adam Burnside (Allison), Kyle Porter (Wendy), and Christina Porter; great grandchildren, Dalton Boswell, Ace Burnside, and Olivia Porter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Billy Frank Porter Sr.; son, Michael Reynolds Porter; parents, O.W. and Mae Bennett Reynolds; and sisters, Dot Sparks, Mary Evelyn Hickson, and Elizabeth Skee.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of James T. Champions Nursing Facility for their care of Mrs. Porter during her time there.
