Leslie Gates

Mr. Gates, 68, of Meridian, passed away Wednesday evening at his residence.

Leslie was a kind, hard working man who enjoyed doing what he loved, being a lawyer. He was described as being honest and caring in his field. He also enjoyed singing, dancing, and playing his guitar. He was a devoted husband and loving father, step-father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley McKee; daughter, Cynthia Dyess and (Stephen) and their children, Jake, Janie, Sadie; stepchildren, Marty McKee and children, Abigail and Alanna; Shanna McKee-McCollough (Debbie); mother, Amanda Gates; and sister, Lauren Gates.

He is preceded in death by his father, James L. Gates; and his first wife, Jane Hodges Gates.
