Lawrence J. Pogue Graveside services for Lawrence J.Pogue were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Coker Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Josh Yeager officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Pogue, 90, of Meridian, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, in Meridian. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II. He was a Prisoner of War and was decorated for his service. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and a member of the Purple Heart Association. Survivors include his step-sons, Jerry Smith and his wife, Pat, of Meridian, Wayne Smith and his wife, Ruth, and Larry Smith and his wife, Linda, all of Mobile, Ala.; a daughter-in-law, Mary Kathryn Kitty McGary of Shubuta; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nora Cotton and Luther Pogue; his wife, Myrtle K. Pogue and a son, Bob Smith. Family and friends may sign an online guest book at www.jamesfwebb.com. BR
