Lavanace Daniel Parker, age 92, passed away September 6th, 2023. He was born January 9th 1931. He married Syble Jackson on February 25th, 1951 and they shared 72 years together.

He was a member of the Stonewall Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a devout Christian who met no stranger and enjoyed discussing the Bible with anyone anytime. He served in the US Army for 3 years during peacetime. He was a Master Mason member of the Wilson Masonic Lodge #72 in Stonewall and he retired after more than 30 years as a truck driver of 18 wheeled trucks.

He enjoyed watching various sports on TV, especially the Braves Baseball Team. For the last three years he was a resident of North Point Health & Rehab. On Wednesday, September 6th 2023 at 10:42 AM he passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his wife, Syble Jackson Parker, 4 children, Larry Parker (Dorothy Mathis), Sharon Parker Talbert (Samuel Talbert-deceased), Barbara Parker Davidson (Edward Davidson) and Kevin Parker (Julie Kidd), 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Ava D. Martin Parker, 1 older sister, Gonolia Parker Chancelor and 1 younger brother Terry Parker.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Philip Odom, Jason Odom, Jonathan Parker and Chris Randall, great-grandsons Joshua Odom, Samuel Odom, Jacob Odom, and Michael Carroll.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Stonewall Baptist Church building fund, PO Box 1178, Stonewall, Mississippi 39363.
