Ken Beatty, age 71, passed away peacefully at home on July 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Webb & Stephens Funeral Home-North on Highway 39.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. and the service following at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. David Pickard and Bro. Justin Fortenberry officiating. Burial will follow at Stinson Cemetery.
Ken was born on April 1, 1954, to Roy and Pat Beatty. Born on April Fool’s Day, it was fitting for someone who loved to joke and bring laughter wherever he went. His quick wit and warm smile made everyone feel welcome-Ken truly never met a stranger.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Ken cherished his family above all.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marie Pickard Beatty; son, Josh and daughter-in-love, Yara; and his precious granddaughter, Jade. He also leaves behind his brother, William Keith Beatty (Brenda); brothers-in-law, Jackie Pickard, Ray Pickard (Betsy), and David Pickard (Kathy); as well as several nieces and nephews.
Ken was a lifelong Alabama Crimson Tide fan- “Roll Tide!” was a phrase often heard from him.
He was known for his kindness, generosity, and genuine love for people.
Ken took great pride in his career as a truck driver, a profession he began at just 18 years old. Over the course of 52 ½ years behind the wheel, he built a legacy of dedication and excellence, retiring in October 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Pat Beatty; sister, Lori Beatty; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ernest and Edna Pickard; and sisters-in-law, Paulette Pickard and Gail Pickard.
Pallbearers will be Steve Waltman, Jack Rush, Mark Quimby, John Elmore, Jay Patel, and Barry McKissack.
Ken will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
