John Reid Jr.

Services honoring the life of Mr. John Reid will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at graveside.  Interment will be held in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Reid, 73, of Meridian, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at home surrounded by his loved ones.

He retired from General Motors after having being employed for over 25 years.  He really loved his family and was very proud of his children and grandchildren.  He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and in his younger years he enjoyed horses.  He was “Mr. Fixit”. Always generous with people he met, lending a helping hand, when he could.  He was a simple man, and a private person, but he enjoyed people and loved life.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy Reid; Daughter, Tamar Mitchell (Philip); Sons, Joseph Reid (Cristy), James Israel Reid (Jennifer); John David Reid (Lyndsey); Grandchildren, Carrie Mitchell, Abbigail Reid, Anna Reid, Josie Reid, Olivia Reid, Reagan Reid; Sister, Nida Evans; Step-Mother, Rose Ellen Reid.

Preceded by Father, John L. Reid Sr. and Mother Juanita Reid; a Sister, Faye Carol Reid; and a Granddaughter, Jessie Reid.
