John Howard

Funeral Services for Mr. John A. Howard will be held Friday, December 28, 2007 at 2:30 PM in James F. Webb Chapel with Rev. Charlie Shelton officiating. Burial will be at Old Marion Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home in Charge of arrangements.

Mr. Howard, age 70, of Meridian, died Sunday, December 23, 2007 in Queen City Nursing Home. He was a member of the First Christian Church and E.J. Knox Lodge. He was a pilot for the Civil Service Patrol and served in the Army, Navy and Marine Reserves. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from University of Mississippi and his Masters of Science degree in business administration from Western New England College.

Survivors Include:

Wife of 20 years, Irene Howard of Toomsuba

Daughters: Jacqueline Chace and husband, Jesse of North Liberty, Iowa; Judy Presley and husband, Rick of Stantonville, TN; JoAnne Howard of San Antonio, TX

Son: John A. Howard, III and wife Maria, of Stantonville, TN

Stepdaughters: Teresa Dunham of Chunky, MS

Renee Wright of Toomsuba, MS

Brother: Guy J. Howard of Tennessee

12 grandchildren

Several cousins, nieces, and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, John A. and Mary Majure Howard, Sr.; Brothers: Leo H. Howard and Michael W. Howard; first wife, Jaunita M. Howard

Pallbearers will be Houston Shelton, Henry Shelton, Daniel Shelton, Terry Shelton, Leo H. Howard, Jr., Gerald Ricks, Guy J. Howard, II, and Kevin Blythe.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 27, 2007 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
