Jo Ann Owen Rutledge, passed away on 9 June 2026 at Homestead Senior Living of Del City, Oklahoma. She was 91 years old.

She is survived by her sons Charles K. Smith, Jr. And his wife Kathy of Beaumont, TX, Joseph C. Smith and his wife Han of Moore, OK, Randy E. Smith of Glencoe, AL, Step-Daughter Ray Carol Swann-Ensell and her husband Scott of Houston, TX. Grandchildren Stephen C. Smith, Joni L Smith Rios, Tiffani Smith, Katrina Smith-Monson, Kenneth T. Smith, Kevin A. Couture, Christina H. Smith-Watson, Cynthia A. Smith-Dupuis, and 17 Great Grandchildren.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents Joseph E. and Gladys Bryan-Owen, Step-Mother Nellie Frazier-Owen, sister Dorothy E. Owen-Jones, and her special Aunt Julia Edna Owen-Brewer and cousin and best friend Peggy Joyce Gossett-Platt.

Jo Ann was a member of Oakland Heights Methodist Church. She was a dedicated member of the Women of the Moose, Chapter #1441 since 1970. She served as the International Grand Council of the Women of the Moose for 1999-2001.She was a member of the Jimmy Rodgers Memorial Foundation and was a former member of the Meridian Board of Realtor’s as an appraiser for Mississippi and Alabama. She retired from Rush's Medical Foundation, Inc, Business office.

A graveside service will be held at Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery on Old Hwy 80 on Friday 19 June 2026 at 10:00 am.
