Graveside services for Jesse L. Harper will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. Frankie officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Harper, 79, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2008, at Guardian Angel Hospice. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. Survivors include his daughter, Sherry Barbot of San Diego; step-daughter, Marian Purvis of Meridian; a sister, Juanita Burrows of San Diego; a special friend, Louise Herring of Meridian; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Harper; parents, William James Harper and Jessie Mae Simmons Harper; sons, Michael Joe Harper and William Jessie Harper and a brother, Joe Frank Harper and a sister, Dorothy Rost. Memorials may be made to Mountain View Baptist Church building fund, 897 Scruggs Road, Meridian, MS 39301. Honorary pallbearers will be Bubba Harper and O.J. Pearce. BR
