James Paul Turner was born on July 29, 1935, in Melvin, AL and passed away on September 11, 2026, at the age of 91. Surrounded by his loved ones, Mr. Turner entered his rest peacefully at his home at Rainbow Lakes near Meridian, MS.
James worked for Lockheed Martin for 21 years before retiring in 1990. He also served in the Army National Guard. Over the years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and working in his yard. He was still able to cut his grass on his zero-turn mower up until his hospitalization less than a month ago. His favorite pass-time was sitting on his back porch with a “cold one” enjoying the view of the lake, especially when his family was there with him.
James is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Christine Campbell Turner; his daughter, Debbie Burke (Roger); grandson, Ryan Burke (Kellee); great-granddaughter, Madeline Kate Burke; along with his brother, Hilton Turner (Theresa) of Monroe, LA, and his sister, Mattie Hall of Meridian, MS.
Graveside Services for Mr. Turner will be held on Tuesday, September 15th at 10:00 AM, at Causeyville Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Roger Burke officiating.
The staff of Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes-North are grateful for the opportunity to honor Mr. Turner’s life and memory and to serve his loving family during this time.
