Graveside services for James Arnold McGowen will be held Sunday morning 8:30 am at Enondale Cemetery. Bro Doug Stokes will be officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is honored to assist in the arrangements.

Mr. McGowen was born on October 27, 1956 in Mobile, AL. the son of Mildred and Ralph McGowen, he went to be with the Lord on July 1, 2021. He was 64 years old.

He spent his early years travelling the U.S. building tanks. Finally settling down in St. Amant, LA as a tank manager in the oilfield industry. Mr. McGowen had many joys of his life including his grandkids. If you couldn’t find him, he probably was in the yard fixing things, building things or just tinkering with his four-wheeler or his motorcycle or he would be on the canal in the Cajun or making circles on Lake Ponchetrain in the Ms. Regina.

He is survived by his wife Regina; sons Jimmy Wayne, Joseph and Jonathan McGowen; stepchildren David Illg, Corey Illg, Amanda Moreau and brother Billy McGowen.

He was a husband, father, brother, friend and what he was known for was being PawPaw to his twelve grandchildren Harrison, Honor, Jackson, Jacob, Graecyn, Darby, Carolyn, Kennedy, Drake, Chandler, Maverick and Amelia. These twelve grandkids made his life worth living.

Mr. McGowen was preceded in death by his first wife Carolyn McGowen and brother Bryant McGowen.
