Ida Gressett

Ida Mae Freeman Gressett, 98, died in Front Royal, Virginia on October 13, 2020.  She was born in Meridian, Mississippi on November 26, 1921 to John Rice Freeman and Ida Viola Wells Freeman.

Mrs. Gressett lived most of her life in Meridian but moved to Virginia in 2017 to live with her daughter.

She was a graduate of Meridian High School.  Mrs. Gressett was a long-time employee of Sears Roebuck in Meridian where she worked in the catalog department.

She is predeceased by her husband, William Howard Gressett, Sr., her parents, and all of her ten siblings.  She is survived by a son, William Howard Gressett, Jr. (wife, Mary) of Madison, MS, and a daughter, Donna Gressett Jordon (husband, Mark) of Front Royal, VA; two grandsons, Christopher Gressett (wife, Karen) and Clayton Gressett, and three great-grandchildren, Olivia Gressett, Zachary Gressett and Wyatt Gressett, all of Madison, MS.  Her grandsons and great-grandchildren were the light of her life.

There will be a graveside service at 11am  on Wednesday, October 21st at Magnolia Cemetery in Meridian.  Her son-in-law, Rev. Dr. Robert Mark Jordon will officiate.
