Services for Harvey Clifton Wright Sr. will be held Saturday, April 13, 2024, 3:00 p.m. at Webb & Stephens Funeral Home-North with Pastor David White officiating.  Interment will follow at Damascus Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in DeKalb, MS.

Harvey Clifton Wright Sr., affectionately known as "Daddy," "Pops," "Pawpaw," and "Buddy," peacefully passed away on April 3, 2024, surrounded by his cherished family. Born on December 21, 1949, he was the beloved son of Bilbo Clifton Wright and Pearlie Gertrude Wright. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ervin Wright, sisters Mary Ellen Palmer, and Janelle Rogers, as well as his adoptive parents James Wright and Hazel Wright.

He is survived by his four children: Harvey Clifton Wright Jr. (Amy), Tabitha Kaye Wright Pomierski (David), Heather Marie Wright Tolbert (Kenny), and Kimberly Ann Wright Topping (James). He is also survived by his siblings, Billy Wright, Donny Stevens, Clyde Wright, Steve Wright, Ann Coleman, Jan Price, and Michael Wright. Harvey leaves behind a legacy of love through his twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and their families. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Catherine Kaye Wright, and his loyal companion, his French Bulldog, Sarge.

Harvey's professional journey began as a tree climber for Asplundh Tree Company. His love of cars led him into a lifelong career as head mechanic and manager at Ronald Gough's Gas Station on Poplar Springs Drive. He later retired from Dee’s Automotive.

Harvey was a man of many passions. First and foremost, he loved his four children and his family unconditionally and was a devoted father and grandfather.  He found joy in the rumble of his Harley Davidsons, the tranquility of fishing, and the thrill of hunting. Yet, above all, his faith in God was unwavering and central to his life.

As he embarks on his journey to eternity, let us remember Harvey's life with fondness and gratitude for the love he shared with those around him.

"In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." - John 14:2 (KJV)

Harvey, "Daddy," "Pops," "Pawpaw," and "Buddy" as he was fondly called, will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Pallbearers will include his grandsons Chase Wright, Justin Wright, Reid Pomierski, Kurt Tolbert, Dalton Espey, Zach Rigdon. Honorary pallbearers will include Ken Flynt (Eulogy) and Mike Meyers.
