Funeral services for Harry John Griffin will be held Wednesday at 1pm in the chapel of Webb & Stephens Funeral Home – North, 7774A Hwy 39 North, Meridian, MS. Rev. Gary Morris will be

officiating the service, with the committal service following at Meridian Memorial Park.

The staff of Webb & Stephens – North are honored to serve the family during this difficult time.

Mr. Griffin, 84, of Meridian, was born August 16, 1938, to Edgar M. Griffin and Marijane Gibson Griffin in Colorado Springs, CO. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired at the rank of Master Sergeant. He further pursued a spirit of service and retired from the Pittsburg Co. Sheriff’s Department and served as a Lauderdale Co. Volunteer Firefighter.

Mr. Griffin is survived by his siblings Marie A. Worley of Colorado, David S. Griffin of Missouri, Loretta J. Gammon of Colorado; children Terri J. Beardlee of North Carolina, Roy A. Griffin of

Missouri, Valerie R. Plumb of Wisconsin, and stepson Glynn Robinson of Louisiana. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his parents; wife Betty J. Crawford Griffin; siblings Robert Edgar Griffin, Thomas L. Griffin, and son John P. Griffin.

Moose Lodge friends that are serving as pallbearers are Glenn Griffin, Ted Burton, Mike Johnston, Gary Jones, Tim Reynolds, and Dennis Glebe. Honorary pallbearers will be local Marine Corps veterans, Moose Lodge members and Lauderdale Co. Volunteer Firefighters.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5pm to 7pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284, or the local Marine Corps League, at Marine Corps League, Jerry Wentworth Det 1101,  1374 Will Wright Road, Meridian, MS 39301. We offer our thank you to the Patriot Guard Riders for their memorial to Mr. Shirley.
