Glynn was a woman whose life was marked by grace, service, and a deep and abiding faith. A graduate of Meridian High School, she was a cheerleader, class favorite, and an active member of the DBS Social Service Club, already reflecting the warmth and leadership that would define her life.

She married her childhood sweetheart, Billy, and together they built a beautiful life grounded in love and devotion. Their marriage was a true partnership, and her love for Billy was constant and unwavering—a reflection of the deep commitment she carried throughout her life. They moved to Oxford, Mississippi, and both attended the University of Mississippi. After Billy graduated, they moved back to Meridian, Mississippi. Wherever life took her, Glynn invested deeply in her community and her church. She was a founding member of the Williams Sunday School Class at Central United Methodist Church in 1951 and faithfully served in many roles there, including on the Administrative Council, President of her Sunday School class, Sunday School teacher, MYF leader, and faithful member of the Sanctuary Choir.

Glynn’s commitment to service extended beyond the church. She was an active member of the Town and Country Garden Club in Meridian, a devoted participant in her book club, and a loving mother who gave her time generously, serving as President of the PTO during her children’s elementary school years. Her heart for helping others was evident in her long-standing involvement with the Junior Auxiliary of Meridian, where she served as President during the 1967–1968 term and remained a dedicated Lifetime Member. She also enjoyed fellowship and friendly competition as a member of the Queen City Duplicate Bridge Club and later the Mary Poole Bridge Club in Oxford. A skilled player, she earned recognition from the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) and was honored in 2011 with a 6th place finish in the Unit 138 Helen Shanbrom Ace of Clubs competition for the state of Mississippi.

In 2016, Glynn returned to Oxford, where she continued her active and faith-filled life, attending Bible study at North Oxford Baptist Church and services at OU United Methodist Church.

Glynn was loved everywhere she went. She had a gift for bringing joy and laughter into every room and was known for her gracious spirit and genuine love for all people. Her kind heart was always open, ready to listen and offer comfort to anyone in need.

She especially loved Christmas—a season that reflected her spirit of generosity, warmth, and joy. She was a wonderful cook, known for meals that brought family and friends together, and she took great delight in giving thoughtful, meaningful gifts. Her home, especially during the holidays, was filled with love, laughter, and the kind of warmth that made everyone feel welcome and cherished.

She was a steady presence—a true rock to her family and friends—and her faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. Proverbs 31 speaks of an excellent woman, and Glynn lived out those words each day. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren join together in gratitude, saying: we are truly blessed.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be sent to Central United Methodist Church.

Glynn is preceded in death by her loving parents, William and Agnes Hall, her beloved husband of 57 years Billy F Fort, sisters Virginia Bounds, Joyce Beasley, brother Nelson Hall, and grandson Breck Moffett.

Glynn is survived by her children, Dr. Ferrell Fort, Doug Fort (Jeanne), and Becky Finan (Dan); her grandchildren, Natalie Moffett, Allison Marvin (Ben), William Fort, Dr. Matthew Fort (Dr. Collette), Jessica Glynn Tolleson (Erik), Douglas Fort, Daniel Finan (Breland); Great Grandchildren, Ridge Moffett, Brooks Hall Moffett, Reed Tolleson, Riley Tolleson, Charlotte Fort, Louis Fort; Daughter-in-love, Pam Melton Fort; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Family will have private burial services at a later date.
