Gerald Lee Scarbrough

November 26, 1963 — May 9, 2025

Little Rock

Gerald Lee Scarbrough, 61, of Little Rock, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Friday, May 9th, at home with his wife by his side.

Gerald was born to Jackie Lee Scarbrough and Grace Elizabeth (Wright) Bennett on November 26, 1963, in Chunky. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, son, father, grandfather, and friend. Gerald met the love of his life, Mary Alice Hardy, on July 2, 1989, and they wed the following year on December 21, 1990. Before suffering his first stroke nine years ago, Gerald loved fishing, working in the yard, and growing their garden. He was known to have a “green thumb” and could grow anything he planted. He also loved music and could be found singing backup at their Dalewood get-togethers when he was able. Gerald’s absence will no doubt leave a void in the hearts of his family and friends, however, they rest in the assurance that Gerald is fully healed and resting in the arms of Jesus.

Gerald was preceded in death by his father, Jackie Lee Scarbrough; his grandparents, Ernest and Sadie Stephens; his uncles, Richard Wright and Mark Stephens; and his grandson, Ethan Boyd McKelvain.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Mary Alice Scarbrough; his mother, Grace E. Bennett; his sons, Chad Spears, Brandon Spears, Lee Scarbrough, and Matthew Scarbrough; his daughter, Shelby McKelvain (Dustin); his brother, Wade E. McElhenney (Laurene); his sisters, Linda K. Tucker (Jamie), Carolyn J. Fuller (Ronnie), and Tina M. Kimbriel (Tony); his uncle, Ken Stephens; his grandchildren, Tyler and Riley Jewel McKelvain; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation for Gerald will be held on Thursday, May 15th, from 1-2:00pm at Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes-Downtown. Chapel Services will begin at 2:00pm with Bro. Jack Kern officiating the service.
