It is with profound respect and deep gratitude that we announce the well-earned rest of Old Glory, the radiant emblem of our great Nation. After a lifetime of unwavering devotion--braving wind and weather, guiding our troops, and standing as a beacon of hope--this noble emblem will be officially retired from service on June 6, 2026, at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Lawn in Meridian, Mississippi, having honorably completed its earthly duty.

Born into the capable hands of a striving young republic, Old Glory has been a constant witness to the American Story. She has draped the caskets of our fallen heroes, fluttered proudly from the masts of ships, and served as a steadfast beacon of liberty, justice, and resilience. She absorbed the tears of our sorrows and danced in the winds of our triumphs. Though her colors may have faded and her fabric worn thin by the elements, the spirit she represents burns brighter than ever.

She leaves behind a legacy written in the very fabric of our history. Through every triumph and trial of the United States of America, Old Glory stood as an enduring symbol of our unity and our highest ideals.

As we retire her to the flames in a ceremony of honor and dignity, we do not erase her history. Instead, we release her spirit into the very fabric of our nation. Every thread represents a story of courage, a sacrifice made for our liberty, and a promise of a better tomorrow. We thank her for her watch, her steadfastness, the values she stands for, and we honor her legacy of Unity, Liberty, and Justice for All.

We invite families, neighbors, and community members to join us to share in this moment of solemn reflection, gratitude, and patriotic unity as we pay our final respects to Old Glory. Attendees are welcomed to bring any unserviceable American flags they may have at home to be included in the retirement ceremony.

We invite everyone to sign our virtual register book by leaving your name and/or comment below. Please share your favorite memories, honor the legacy of your beloved veterans, or send a message of gratitude to our active-duty service members. Your tributes will serve as a lasting testament to the heroes who keep the spirit of Old Glory alive.
