Erbie Usrey

Funeral services for retired Navy Chief Erbie C. Usrey will be held at 10:30 Saturday Oct. 10, 2020 with visitation 30 minutes prior to service at Center Grove Baptist Church. Bro. Jimmy Culpepper will be officiating with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Mr. Usrey, 82, of Causeyville, passed away Oct. 4, 2020 at his home

Mr Usrey joined the Navy at 17 and served 22 years. After retiring he worked as head of security for Rush Hospital for 18 years and also completed a degree in A/C refrigeration from MCC.

Mr. Usrey was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and devoted member of Center Grove Baptist Church were he served as deacon.

Mr. Usrey is survived by his siblings Barbara, Sue, Mary Ellen, Jim, Rosalie and Charlie. His children Lorie Ballard (Ron) Debby Christian, Donald McDaniels (Lenora) Tony Champagne. Six grandchildren numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

Mr. Usrey was preceded in death by his wife Maydell and previous wife Nancy. His parents, brothers Harold and John and sister Helen. A great grandson Cameron and great granddaughter Audrianna.

Pallbearers will be Bubba Sparks, Corey Friend, Jared McDaniels, Brandon Fuller, Kevin Fuller and Skyler Christian. Honorary pallbearers will be Owen and Omir Brewster.
