A graveside service for Dorothy Jean Cantrell will be held Friday, December 20, 2024, 2:00 p.m. at Hubert Hollis Memorial Cemetery in Beaverton, AL with Brenda & Steven Lockley and Bro. Chris Gully officiating.
The visitation will be held Friday, prior to the service, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Webb & Stephens Funeral Home-DeKalb.
Jean attended Awakening Fire International Church. She was a devout Christian who love the Lord and adored her church family. She also enjoyed tending to her flowers and watching her birds; however, her greatest earthly love was her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Ginger Thomas (Jason); stepdaughters, Florence Acres (David), Joyce Heames, and Lynne Webb (Marlan); grandchildren, Austin Thomas, Garrett Thomas, Holden Thomas, Garron Dickson, Landon Dickson, James Acres, Chad Acres, Scott Acres, Lashea “Becca” Chandler, Blake Webb, Heather Acton, Wiggs Thompson, Allen Cantrell, and Kayla Singer; numerous great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Cudell Cantrell; sons, Michael Dickson and Johnny Cantrell; and parents, William and Ellie Townley Gilbert.
Pallbearers will include Austin Thomas, Garrett Thomas, Holden Thomas, Garron Dickson, Landon Dickson, and Brody Thomas.
