Services for Doris Calvine Walters Birdsong will be held Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 11 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lamar Lifer officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Mrs. Birdsong, 85, of Meridian, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, at Riley Hospital. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include her children, Dixie Thompson and her husband, Bob, Glynda Atkins and her husband, Owen, Christi Alexander and her husband, Gary, Ben Birdsong and his wife, Kathleen; grandchildren, Susan Guhr and her husband, Stacey, Thad Thompson, Tim Atkins and his wife, Laura, Amy Bell and her husband, Roger, Jeff Atkins and his wife, Heather, Greg Alexander and his wife, Misty, Faith Finn and Frankie Birdsong; great-grandchildren, Reilly Guhr, Reid Guhr, Renna Guhr, Emily Atkins, John Atkins, Mandy Atkins, Daniel Bell, Kaitlyn Bell, Hanna Atkins, Hayley Atkins, Cole Atkins, Cooper Alexander, Mason Birdsong, Titus Finn, Jamie Finn, Rebecca Finn and one more expected great-grandchild; sisters, Lois Hagan and her husband, Nilon and Sarah Barham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin F. Birdsong; a brother, Calvin Asa Walters Jr. and parents, Calvin Asa Walters Sr. and Mamie Weaver Walters and her step-mother, Tennie Walters.
