Curtis “Dell” Giles left this earth Thursday, February 10, 2022, at his home surrounded by family. His Viewing will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Webb & Stephens Funeral Home North located at 7774-A Hwy 39 North, Meridian, Mississippi. Per his request, a private family service will be held at a later date.
Dell was a firefighter at Meridian Navel Air Station until his retirement. He served in the United States Army and National Guard.
He loved his family and friends unconditional. He was a lover of all kinds of music, sports, card games, dominos, and golf. He loved golf more than words can say. He always said, “I wish I could hit one more golf ball!” He loved the land that was passed down to him which he worked and kept up until he was 79 years old. He asked that his Ashes be scattered there for his final resting place on this earth.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Charlotte Belk Giles; daughter Theresa Kinard (David), son Curtis Giles (Linda); granddaughters Adrienne Watkins and Chelsea Giles; great-grandchildren Jeremiah Ross and Rosa Ross; his aunt Angie Becton; sister-in-law Yvette Belk Rush; brother-in-law Ray Rush and many cousins, nephews, and nieces who he loved dearly.
He is preceded in death by his father Emmett Giles; mother Irene Smith Giles; sisters Nell Giles Allen (his twin sister) and Hazel Giles Burns; daughter Lisa Giles; father-in-law Lonnie Belk; mother-in law Elma Pinter Belk and many friends.
The family would like to thank Southern Care for all the support they gave us and his Physical Therapist Julia from Kindred Home Health.
