Charles Roberts

A graveside service for Charles Edward Roberts will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2022, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Webb & Stephens Funeral Home-Downtown.

Mr. Roberts, 76, of Meridian, passed away Saturday, August 20th at his residence.

Charles was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Vietnam in the 1st Calvary Division. He was a Purple Heart recipient and well as the Combat Infantryman Badge. He was also a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter 803.

He is survived by his children, Richard H. House (Jennie), Barbara Long (Roy), and Susan Brown (Chris); grandchildren, Brian Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Brett Johnson, Taylor Farr, Cameron Farr, and Nick House; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Danny Knight; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Gwen Roberts; parents, John and Pearl Roberts; sisters, Pauline Talley, Mary Alice Roberts, and Pearly Mae Crawford; and brothers, Willy Frank, Olwese, Rufus, Ruben, Thomas “Doc”, James, John, and Roy Roberts.
