Charles E. Hutcheson

Charles E. Hutcheson, 79, of Collinsville, Mississippi peacefully passed away to his heavenly home on Wednesday, September 13th, 2023, while surrounded by his family.

He was born January 22nd, 1944 to Mr. and Mrs. Cooksey Hutcheson in Magnolia, Arkansas, and married Marie Clark on August 17th, 1962. Together, they had three children, Lisa, Doug, and Marcy.

During his life, Charles proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army Reserve, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel after more than 30 years of service. During his service, he was assigned to the Lauderdale Emergency Management Agency, and was instrumental in establishing the Lauderdale Sheriff's Reserve. He was also employed by State Farm Insurance and retired after 30 years as a Claims Superintendent.

He was a faithful member of Midway Baptist Church where he helped to form the church security team, and was active in all church sponsored events.

Charles is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marie Hutcheson, his children Lisa Walsh (Matt), Doug Hutcheson (Stacey), and Marcy Camp (Kevin). Charles is also survived by his grandchildren Erin Walsh, Andrew Walsh (Bailee), Elena Walsh, Savannah Hutcheson, Chloe Miller, Hannah Miller, Logan George (Peyton), Asalyn Pounders (Cody Eubanks), and a great granddaughter, Elsie Walsh.

He is also survived by his brothers Jerry (Diane), and Elmer, and was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be at Midway Baptist Church in Meridian, Mississippi on Saturday, September 16th, 2023 at 10:00 AM with Celebration of Life service immediately thereafter at 11:00 AM. Services will be officiated by Brothers Mike Bird, Wayne Edwards, and Michael Oates.
