Services for Caroline Butler Wilson will be at the Episcopal Church of the Mediator Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., with Father Morris Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Gumlog Cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wilson, 94, of the Obadiah Community, died Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Yazoo City, Mississippi.

Mrs. Wilson was a graduate of the “W” in Columbus and taught school in several schools including Kate Griffin Junior High in Meridian and the American dependents School in Furth, Germany.

She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Mediator since 1964. She was an active member of the Obadiah Homemaker Club, the Center Hill Community Development Club, Samuel Dale Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Center Hill Senior Citizens, and the Retired Officers Association. She was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 79 Auxiliary, American Legion Post 21 Auxiliary, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 56 Auxiliary and the Navy League of the United States.

Survivors include two sons, Retired Major James Wilfred Wilson, Jr. and his wife Mary Garrett Wilson, both of Austin, Texas, and Dr. George Butler Wilson and his wife Bobbie Toler Wilson of Tullahoma, Tennessee; and a daughter, Sallie Allison Wilson Looper and her husband Richard Kenneth Looper II, both of Mandeville, Louisiana; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews across the country.

Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband James Wilfred Wilson; her parents, James Sessions and Janie Williams Butler; and ten siblings.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial be made to the Memorial Fund of the Episcopal Church of the Mediator or to a favorite charity.

The body will be taken to the Episcopal Church of the Mediator Monday evening, where a vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m.

Visitation will be held an hour prior to service at the church.

The Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated at the 11:00 a.m. service Tuesday.
