Blanks Earnest Jones

Services for Blanks Earnest Jones will be held Thursday, January 10, 2008 at 10 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev.George Pugh, Rev. Chris Cooksey, and Rev. Jimmie Gunn officiating. Burial will be in Suqualena Cemetery.

Mr. Blanks, 86, died Tuesday, January 7, 2008 at his home. Mr. Blanks was a WWII veteran while serving in the Navy, he was also active in the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of the Suqualena Masonic Lodge and also a member of Suqualena United Methodist Church. Mr. Blanks was also a member of IBEW Union and participated in his local volunteer fire department.

Survivors include his wife Effie Jeane Cooksey Jones of Suqualena, MS. Son, Gary Blanks Jones and his wife Carolyn of Meridian, MS; Daughter, Virginia Ginny Adkins and her husband Mark of Meridian, MS. Two Granddaughters, Amanda Jones Rickles and her husband Les of Kewanne, MS; Holly Virginia Adkins Paczak and her husband Brad of New Orleans, LA and one grandson, Mathew Ryan Adkins. Two Step Granddaughters, Jessica Pickard and Amber Johnson. Three Great Grandchildren, Elizabeth, Cateland, and Levi Rickles. Two Step Grandchildren, Colby and Elizabeth Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Marshall Jones and Lela Virginia Blanks Jones; Infant Son, Gregory Allan Jones; Six Brothers, Cecil Glyn Jones, Albert Leon Jones, Richard Earl Jones, Harold Thomas Jones, Ethel Marvin Jones, and Floyd Marshall Jones.

Memorials may be made to Suqualena United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2007 at James F. Webb Funeral Home from 5- 7 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Tomas Jones, Doug Jones, Glenn Cooksey, Wayne Cooksey, Eddie Gray, Lee Midgett, Scott Cooksey, David Culpepper, and Robert Poole. Honorary pallbearers are to be Rush Gordan, Fred Lewis, Members and Board of Suqualena Volunteer Fire Dept. and members of Suqualena Masonic Lodge.
