Billy Morrison

Billy Frank Morrison of Lauderdale County, Meridian, MS passed away at his home at the age of 77. After several months of declining health, Billy died peacefully with his beloved children, grandchildren, his sister & niece by his side.

Billy was born in Augusta, Georgia on January 29, 1945. The oldest of 4, two Brothers & one sister. He enlisted in the United States Navy in April 1962, because of his work ethic and desire to take care of his family. He married Thelma Whittley in 1967.  During his time in USN, he received 2 Purple Hearts, Navy Commendation Medal (Combat “V”), Presidential Unit Citation (2), Vietnam Service & Vietnam Campaign Medals, National Defense Service Metal, Meritorious Unit Commendation (3), Combat Action Ribbon, Sea Service Ribbon, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (2), Gold Wreath Award (1 st ), and Good Conduct Award (4). He was a E7 Navy Chief Petty Officer Retired in 1981. He then worked at the USPS & retired after 20 yrs. He enjoyed working in his yard planting flowers & spending time with his family and granddaughters & great granddaughters & his dogs.

Billy was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Morrison, his mother Mildred Stokes Wright, and by his brother Stanley B. Wright. He is survived by his sister Faye Thompson of Cordova, TN. Brother David Wright (Annetta) of Jackson, TN. His children Billy Roy Morrison & Hope Morrison, their daughters (his grandchildren) Brooke Morrison (Brittney) Jessica Faye Morrison (Great Grandchildren) Jenna Cardwell, Elizabeth Morrison & Starr Moore of Meridian, MS. His daughter Missy Morrison, & Son Daniel Morrison of Meridian, MS. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be no services will be held.
