Betty Ross

Betty Ann Patrick Ross, 85, of Meridian, passed away into the loving hands of her Heavenly Father on October 21, 2022. There will be two services. On Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Meridian, there will be visitation at 9:30 AM followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. The second will be a graveside service on Thursday, October 27, 2022,  at Greenlawn Gardens in Vicksburg, with visitation following at Woodlawn Baptist Church.

Betty Ann Patrick Ross was born in Arkabutla, Mississippi to Flossie Tate Patrick and Claude Joshua Patrick on March 14, 1937. She attended high school at Senatobia High School and continued her education at Northwest Community College and  Mississippi College. Her passion was teaching and special education   She began her teaching career in Indianola, Mississippi and continued teaching in Memphis Tennessee, Jackson Mississippi, and Vicksburg Mississippi.  As her four children grew up, she returned to the classroom and received her masters degree in special education. She was  involved in activities and leadership at both Woodlawn Baptist Church in Vicksburg and at First Baptist Church in Meridian. Her passion for spreading the gospel led to mission opportunities across the United States and several countries throughout the world.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father and husband.

Betty is survived by her children, Dee Ross-Negrete, Santa Clarita California, Amy Ross-Ward (Jimbo) Demopolis Alabama, Pat Ross (Suzanne) Madison, and Eric Ross (Erica) Atlanta and eight grandchildren: Joshua (Dee), William (Amy), Patrick (Amber), Westbrooks, Hampton (Pat),  Martha, Margaret, Tucker (Eric) Betty was an only child and  is survived by several cousins
